Light and sweet, it is brewed from Pur­ple Corn that is nat­u­ral­ly rich in antiox­i­dants, sweet­ened with a touch of Pan­ela to add depth, fruit­ed with Peru­vian lime juice for some cit­rus acid­i­ty, and spiced with cin­na­mon and clove to cre­ate a bal­anced and com­plex fla­vor. Dos Luces brings Chicha Morada from the Andes to the Rockies, brewing our Chicha Morada with whole Purple Corn kernels for rich flavor and deep purple color.

The health ben­e­fits of Pur­ple Corn are becom­ing increas­ing­ly well known, with mul­ti­ple Nation­al Insti­tute of Health stud­ies delv­ing into “the potent antiox­i­dant, anti-inflam­ma­to­ry, antimu­ta­genic, anti­car­cino­genic, and anti-angio­gen­e­sis prop­er­ties.” Pur­ple Corn phe­no­lic com­pounds “were also found to ame­lio­rate lifestyle dis­eases, such as obe­si­ty, dia­betes, hyper­glycemia, hyper­ten­sion, and car­dio­vas­cu­lar dis­eases, based on their strong antiox­i­dant pow­er involv­ing bio­chem­i­cal reg­u­la­tion ame­lio­ra­tion.” 1 It has also been stud­ied as a pain reliev­er 2, as well as help­ing pre­vent and slow cer­tain types of can­cer 3 and relieve stress 4.
